1. Activate Your FMCSA Portal Account
– Visit the FMCSA Portal to confirm that your account is active. This is a vital step that will enable you to easily claim your existing USDOT Number and create your company account in MOTUS when it goes live later this year.

2. Verify Your Company Official
– Navigate to the “Account Management” tab in your portal. Check that the Company Official listed is either the owner or an employee responsible for managing FMCSA registration. It’s important that this individual is directly associated with your motor carrier business, not an external party.

3. Update Company Information
– Make sure your company information is current. You can do this by completing the “Biennial Update (MCS-150)” found in the “Registration” tab of your portal. Ensuring that all details are accurate will smooth the transition into the new system.

Important Deadline

Please note that all current registration functionalities, including new applications in URS, changes and filings via L&I, and registration options in your FMCSA portal, will be permanently retired on Thursday, May 14 at 8 P.M.
